The more modern extension of Platanias (Kato) gathers all the amenities and services a modern tourist designation may offer.  Its network of hotels, restaurants, cafes, shops and recreation facilities of all kind, as well as jewellery shops, super markets, banks there can also be found health clinics, chemist and shopping, to small sea excursions that beginning and end at the graphic more crowded fishing boat marina offering daily excursions.

Ideally situated to areas of interest and its south western beaches of Crete, Falassarna, Gramvoussa Balos Lagoons and not forgetting Elafonissi the Pink Libyan sand beach and its off shore island dotted along the way with palm trees.

Getting to a from Platanias

The green bus line departs every half hour.

Approximate duration is 25 minutes; the terminal station is locted at Kydonias Avenue, in the city’s centre next to 1866 Square.
